Sharp HealthCare Selects Aternity® For End User Experience
Premier Health Care Delivery System Manages and Monitors Application Performance of Allscripts™ Enterprise, Cerner, Millennium®, and other Critical Clinician Apps
Sep 28, 2010

BOSTON, MA (USA) — September 28, 2010 — Aternity Inc., the industry’s technology leader in end user experience management solutions for Global 1000 enterprises, announced today that Sharp HealthCare, San Diego`s most comprehensive health care delivery system and 2007 Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award recipient, has selected the Aternity Frontline Performance Intelligence (FPI) Platform for its strategic end user experience management initiatives. With Aternity, Sharp HealthCare will be monitoring and analyzing the performance of a number of mission-critical applications including Allscripts and Cerner in order to pro-actively manage the deployment, adoption and on-going use of their critical clinician applications.

By uniquely transforming every desktop, physical or virtual, into a self-monitoring platform that is user-experience aware, the Aternity Frontline Performance Intelligence Platform arms IT and business executives with empirical evidence on how application performance and usage impacts end users’ productivity and how to optimize their technology to improve it. The Aternity FPI Platform culls end user performance and usage metrics from mission-critical applications in both real and virtual desktop environments, enabling enterprises to quickly gain the agility required to rapidly address issues before they impact business results. Rapid implementation and integration result in immediate ROI.

“Our previous set of monitoring tools were very challenging to deploy into our current IT environment and we had difficulty using the data they provided to truly understand how performance was impacting the productivity of our clinicians and end users,” said William Spooner, Chief Information Officer at Sharp HealthCare who was recently named CIO of the Year by the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME) and Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) for his lifetime achievements in the health care IT industry. “Aternity’s Platform was the only solution that could give us the monitoring capabilities we needed along with real-time analytics that provide us with in-depth frontline intelligence to understand application usage, usability, quality of service, user behavior and productivity. We can now proactively address end user issues so that performance distractions do not deter our focus in providing clinical excellence and high-quality patient care.”

“Sharp HealthCare is an award-winning health care delivery system that has received the U.S.’s highest presidential honor for quality and organizational performance excellence, and we are honored that they selected our FPI Platform to address a critical IT need,” said Trevor Matz, President and CEO of Aternity. “We are confident that Aternity will provide Sharp with the user-centric, proactive management capabilities they need to protect the value of their Electronic Health Record and meaningful use initiatives so that they can continue to focus on their passion for caring.”
